Meandering through the lush Come By Chance River valley, the town of Come By Chance is a quiet, rural community with homes nestled among verdant foliage. Follow the river and you will discover one of our hidden gems - our breathtaking estuary, locally known as The Gut. The sprawling estuary is readily accessible for exploring, picnicking, beach-combing and licensed salmon fishing. The salty ocean breezes are a perfect complement to the spectacular sunsets. Our hiking trail is one of six on the Isthmus of Avalon area and is well maintained offering a pleasant hike through forests redolent of earth and pine with panoramic glimpses of the river. Take a spell on one of the benches along the trail to enjoy the quiet and watch the birds as they flit to and fro.
Great things come in small packages! We have approximately 230 permanent residents in Come By Chance but despite our small size, we have a thriving industrial park adjacent the oil refinery and minutes from the Bull Arm Fabrication Site. Our residents enjoy the advantages of small town living with the added benefits of big industry business and employment opportunities virtually in our backyard.
